Kia Reports January 2015 Sales Figures

Kia Motors America has got off to a great start in 2015 setting a new January sales record!

Kia continued its record-setting momentum during the first month of 2015 with best-ever January sales of 38,299 vehicles.

January sales were up 3.5 percent over the same month a year ago!

Kia sales were led by strong performance of the Optima sedan and SOul crossover vehicle selling 9,394 and 8,142 units, respectively.

Third from top was the Sorento CUV, which has recorded the sales of 7,543 units.

Taking fourth and fifth spot were the Forte compact car with 6,422 units and Sportage CUV with 3,054 units.

The Sedona MPV also performed well selling 1,670 units last month (up from 442 units in January last year).

A few Kia models that performed below our expectations:

Kia Rio sold only 1,572 units last month (compared to 3,162 units in January 2014).

It seems like Kia luxury cars have lost a bit of their momentum moving less than 500 units combined (119 units of the K900 and 383 units of Cadenza premium sedan).
