Kia August Sales Bolstered With Strong Soul Crossover Sales

August proved to be another stellar month for Kia Motors America, allowing the company to post its best-ever August sales of 58,897 new vehicles.

That number represents a 7,7% increase over the same month a year ago!

Year-to-date sales are up 5.4 percent over the same period in 2014!

Kia’s best-sellers: Soul, Optima, Sorento

As we mentioned, August was strong month for the Kia brand in the United States, but what is really exciting is the fact how well the updated Soul crossover has been received.

The 2016 Kia Soul recorded the sales of more than 17,100 units, which represents its all-time best single month sales performance.

Meanwhile, the all electric Soul EV sold quite well last month (93 units sold / 622 units sold year-to-date). 

The soon-to-be-replaced Kia Optima midsize sedan performed well too, moving 13,980 units.

Rounding out the three best-selling Kia models last month was the 2016 Sorento SUV with 10,211 units sold.

Following Sorento SUV were the Forte compact car family and Sportage crossover vehicle with sales of 6,862 and 5,749 units, respectively.

Another highlight in the Kia range was the Sedona MPV with sales of 2,545 units.

Kia’s luxury car line-up posted mixed results with Cadenza sales decreasing to 322 units.

On the other hand, the K900 flagship sedan improved the figures from a year ago and outsold the Cadenza for the very first time since its inaugural US-market launch.
