Kia Picanto Facelift To Be Launched In 2015 With 1,0L Turbo Engine
First spy photo of the 2015 Kia Picanto facelift hits the web!
After nearly 4 years on the market, it’s just about time for a mid-life facelift for the Picanto city car.
The spy photos here (captured in South Korea) reveal the 5-door version of the Picanto city car, but it is expected that the 3-door version will also get a refresh for the 2015 model year.

2015 Picanto Spy Shots
From what we can see, the changes are not huge.
Most of the styling tweaks remain hidden by a heavy cloak on the front and back of the car.
What we expect to see when the camouflage falls off are the more prominent H-signature grille, as well as slightly updated headlights and bumper at front- and rear-end.
The interior is also sure to be freshened up, with Kia’s latest infotainment system and upgraded equipment likely to be included.
1,0L 3-cylinder Turbo Engine
Up until now we haven’t heard of any major engineering changes to be applied to the Picanto facelift, however, latest reports from South Korea suggest that Kia will also introduce a new engine for the 2015 model.
This would be the long-awaited 1,0L 3-cylinder T-GDI turbo engine which generates segment-leading 106 horsepower.
Official Launch Date Of The 2015 Picanto
The refreshed 2015 Kia Picanto small hatchback is expected to be officially launched at one of the major auto shows next year and should be available to consumers worldwide by summer 2015.
What’s the name of that one Kia model over in Europe. It’s a B segment crossover on Soul platform. It’s a mpv. I forgot the name of it but how is it doing sells wise?

Guess what? I just saw the 2015-16 Chevy Volt. Remember when the 2010 Kia Forte was unveiled and people brought up “Civic.” Funny how the new Volt can get away from copying the 2015 Acura TL’s front face. If the Volt was a Kia that’s what would have been said.
Guess what? I just saw the next generation Hyundai Equus on spy shots. It is one of the very few in its class to actually be “redesigned.” Unlike the Lexus IS, BMW 7 SEREIES, Audi A6, Mercedes C class etc. Yet the Geenssis and Equus are the youngest cars in this class and already gotten redesigns.
Speaking of high performanced Korean cars, it’s nice to know the Kia GT is getting the greenlight. Now lets look at allllllll the Korean RWD high priced performanced cars vs. all the line ups like Audi line up, Lexus Line up etc etc.
Unlike Lexus, Audi, BMW or Mercdes, the Equus, Genesis, K900 or the GT concept all look different. Yet they share the same platform. That’s hard to do. But all BMWs look alike. All Audis look alike. All Lexus model look alike (didn’t use to until they got rid of IS’s differeances) all Infintis look like. All Volvoos look alike. Unlike Hyundai and Kia. And Hyundai and Kia knows how to totaly redesign a high priced performance car every 5 to 6 years unlike their rivals.
Also Kia knows how to make the 2011 Optima evolve and make it even better looking….unlike most car automakers. I can’t wait until the unveiling of the 2015 NYAS where the grounbreaking Kia Optima will be unveiled and ready to whip some Ford fusion ass……once again.
Also may I add, the 2016 Kia Sorento is only the fewest crossovers in it’s class that never lost it’s truckish exterior design….Murano, Pathefinder, Rav-4, Ford Escape, Rouge, Ford Edge (Edge can’t handle off road like the Sorento can so it’s a on road only car to me), CX-5, CX-3, Honda HR-V, Murano (nice redesign from Nissan though but it can’t handle off road like Sorento can) CR-V, Traverse, Enclave, .
Truck crossovers for men: Sorento, MDX, Grand Cherokee, Ford Explorer, Land Rover, 4Runner,Tahoe, Mercedes M, Pilot, Highlander. These SUVs are tough like CROSSOVERS that look ready to be driven off and on road at anytime unexpected. I bet that’s what Kia wanted, to keep Sorento’s truckish image even if it lost its BODY ON FRAME 2 geneations ago. Most crossovers get redesigned to look like a car rather than a truck. And if the Cross GT from Kia gets the greenlight, it’ll be tough enough like a real truck is supposed to be.
So if a
The Lexus RX is a whimp crossover designed like a car not a truck…..forgot to add that. Infinti FX is another CUV design carlike rather than trucklike (but the Infinti ain’t a wimp design like the RX is it’s just that the FX will look funny going up a tough mountain like the Sorento, Highlander and Grand Cherokee).. Audi Q7 another whippy CUV that can’t handle what Sorento, Highlander or Grand Cherokee can handle.
Look how tough the Sorento, Highlnader and Grand Cherokee look. They look to be taken seriously. These trucks aren’t scared to get dirty. Also add the Dodge Duraango another truckish exterior. Crossovers with truckish exteriors are getting more and more rare.
I just saw a picture of the 2015 Infinti Q60 coupe concept.
Is Scion serious? Scion has a hatch coming to production. The side profile is outdated. It copied the 2007 Mazda 3’s side. If it was Korean that’s what would have been said. Yet accused the 2007 Kia cee’d of coming the Mazda 3’s greenhouse. But the Scion is a direct copy of that Mazda 3’s greenhouse. Also, I just saw spy shots of the next generation Lexus RX. So far I’m not impressed with the design mainly because it looks too much like a car and less like a truck.
Honda got fined $70 million for not reporting safety issues. How quiet that’s kept. If it was Korean it would have been reported much easier. Give them 4 weeks and the public will act like this never happened.
JTZ………………it is MPV in Europe called Jenga
