Kia Sorento Floor Mats (For 2018 & 2019 Models)

With the release of the new Kia Sorento SUV, it’s safe to say that this crossover vehicle has been taken to all new levels of cool.

It’s the ultimate family vehicle, comfortably seating 7, yet it’s also one that parents will love to ride in without the kids.

One of the great elements of the new Sorento SUV is the interior, as the cabin has been given a serious upgrade.

It’s a look that you will most certainly want to maintain, and the quality floor mats for Kia Sorento can certainly help make that happen!

.

You have two different types of Kia Sorento floor mats:

  • rubber floor mats for all weather
  • carpet floor mats

If you live in a part of the country where rain and snow are common, it’s only a matter of time before the carpet in your Kia Sorento starts to degrade due to wet and muddy shoes going in and out.

Therefore the rubber mats may be the perfect solution, as they are designed to offer a level of protection for your carpeting that simply cannot be matched.

These mats are made to fit perfectly in the 7-seater version of the Kia Sorento SUV, and are not just for the front of the vehicle.

This is a complete set that comes with mats for all 3 rows, which is great, since the kids in back are sure to be less bothered by the mud that they track in.

The mats look great, are easy to clean, and come with the Sorento name on each one.

This is a must have for anyone who wants to keep the floor of their 7-seat Kia Sorento looking like it just rolled off the production line!

How Much Can You Tow With Kia Vehicles?

Thanks for visiting our latest blog post, which revelas the official Kia towing capacity figures for the Sorento, Sportage and Sedona.

If you have a trailer, or plan on towing things on a regular basis, you are going to have to invest in a vehicle that’s up to the task.

The good news for those of you interested in purchasing a Kia is that there are three models in their U.S. line-up that are more than capable of pulling heavier loads.

Let’s take a closer look so that we can find out just how much each of the Kia vehicles can tow.

Official Kia vehicle towing capacities

ModelTowing capacity (lb.)
Sorento SUV2,000 - 5,000
Sedona minivan3,500
Sportage SUV2,000

Towing with Kia Sorento

2017 Kia Sorento, Sportage, Sedona towingIf you are looking for cargo space and towing power in one great package, then the Sorento midsize SUV may well be the vehicle for you.

Designed to comfortably seat up to 7 passengers, the 2019 Kia Sorento also has some real towing power.

Just how much you can tow with it depends on the engine and drive configuration that you opt for.

If you go with the 290-hp V6 engine with the Dynamax AWD system, you are looking at a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds.

Towing with Kia Sportage

The Sportage SUV comes in a little smaller than the Sorento, but it can still be used to tow a decent amount of weight, regardless of which of the two engines options you go with.

There is AWD and FWD options with the Sportage, but neither influences the overall towing capacity.

The 2019 Kia Sportage towing capacity is rated at 2,000 pounds.

Towing with Kia Sedona minivan

You might not expect a minivan to have much in the way of towing capacity, but the Sedona can pull more weight than the Kia Sportage.

It certainly helps that the minivan comes with a powerful V6 engine like the one found under the hood of the larger SUV.

You will need to go with the model that includes the optional towing package, but when you do, you get a Kia Sedona with a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

Kia Displays Wild Concept Cars At SEMA 2016

The 2016 SEMA – Specialty Equipment Market Association show opened today, and Kia Motors America took the opportunity to show off 4 brand new custom vehicles.

While all different in their own way, the vehicles all hint at a future when cars will be driven autonomously, and will be made specifically to suit the lifestyle of the driver.

Kia will have 5 vehicles on display in Las Vegas, as they will also be showing off the Telluride full-size hybrid SUV that first appeared at the North American International Auto Show earlier this year.

All Kia vehicles that take the stage at SEMA 2016 highlight the imagination of the automaker, allowing them to go further than they ever would with a production model.

Let’s take a closer look at the 2016 Kia SEMA show cars…

Kia Niro Triathlon

Kia Niro TriathlonThe biggest test of the endurance of an athlete may well be the triathlon. Running, biking, and swimming in awful conditions make this race a real test of strength and determination.

All you want to do after the race is relax, and the fully autonomous Niro Triathlon delivers a cabin space that lets you do just that.

It also contains training equipment so that you can get ready for the next race after the batteries have recharged.

The good folks at LGE-CTS Motorsports took the 2017 Niro hybrid and turned it into a CUV that is all about the athletic lifestyle.

School of Rock Kia Sedona

School of Rock Kia SedonaModern vehicles are all designed to be as safe as possible, but it’s impossible to take human error out of the equation.

That will all change when autonomous vehicles take road, and it will be a huge jump forward for family vehicles.

Imagine being able to load up the kids knowing that they will safely get from Point A to Point B with no chance of an accident every single time.

That is the idea behind the School of Rock Kia Sedona minivan, which was once again done up by LGE-CTS.

Kia Sorento Ski Gondola

Kia Sorento Ski GondolaWhy wait for the ski lift to get you and your adventure seeking ski friends up the mountain when you can get there in the self-driving Sorento Ski Gondola?

Built by LUX Motorwerks, this luxurious SUV is designed to cut through ice and snow like butter, whilst also helping you stay warm and comfortable in a cool environment.

.

Kia Soul First Class

Kia Soul First ClassDesigned with the business traveler in mid, the Soul First Class is an upscale vehicle that allows the passengers to work when they need to, and relax in style when they are done.

The Kia Soul First Class features rear facing seats, luxury upgrades, and does not have a steering wheel in the cabin, since it is autonomously driven.

Kia Telluride concept

The Telluride is an SUV that is designed for the future, but which still contains many elements seen today.

It’s a 3-row 7-seater that has a modern design, as well as a ton of technology on boars to keep all the passengers occupied.

While this is a concept vehicle, it is built on an existing platform, which may well be a sign that Kia might be interested in filling the SUV spot above the top-selling Sorento.

2019 Kia Niro Ground Clearance – Is It Car Or SUV?

One thing that you immediately notice about the Kia Niro is that the ground clearance is a little bit different than other vehicles.

A closer look at the specs reveals that the 2019 Kia Niro ground clearance stands at 5.9 in or 150 mm.

If you know anything about Kia cars, you will already know that this clearance is more than a regular car, such as the Forte sedan, but a little less than vehicles like the Kia Sportage SUV.

The Niro will be offered as a front wheel drive option only, and Kia says that there are no plans to deliver an AWD version anytime soon.

We all know that things can change quickly in the automotive industry, so never say never to AWD.

Kia Niro hybrid ground clearance: 5,9″

Kia Niro Ground ClearanceAll of that aside, the thing to consider with the Niro is that it has higher ground clearance than normal cars, which makes us wonder if it’s a car or an SUV.

The reality is that it’s neither, as the Niro hybrid falls into the crossover category.

What that means is that it’s a blend of both. It has the great handling of a car, whilst also having the higher seating position and ground clearance of an SUV.

With the addition of the Niro to the crossover category, Kia now has two vehicles in there, with the Soul being the other.

Kia calls the Niro a HUV, which stands for hybrid utility vehicle. The name also fits since the Niro is a hybrid model, with a plug-in hybrid model also coming soon.

No matter the tag attached to the vehicle, the ground clearance of the Kia Niro gives it an edge over other regular vehicles. The fact that it’s also a hybrid model makes a unique value proposition.

Kia Picanto Redesign: First Teaser Images Released

The Picanto is the smallest vehicle in the Kia line-up, but it has some big changes in store for its third generation.

The 2018 Kia Picanto will be getting a full makeover both inside and out, so expect something totally different from what you have been used to.

Kia Picanto redesign

You certainly don’t think of the outgoing Picanto as being sporty or aggressive, but images of the new model show a vehicle that appears to be heading in that direction.

It should be pointed out, though, that the images we have are renders, and those tend to be a little more dramatic than the real thing, but this is still a sign that the new Picanto is going to be a lot more interesting to look at.

Kia Picanto 2018 2018 Kia Picanto teaser image

Our guess is that the renders are for the top of the line GT version, as witnessed by the use of large alloy wheels, dual exhaust tips, and sporty bumpers.

This is something that we feel will be a definite possibility for the Picanto, and potentially even from the day of release.

Kia Picanto 2018 – interior

The images also reveal what the interior will look like, and the first things that jumps out is the tablet style infotainment system that is like the one found in the 2017 Rio.

The cabin as a whole has changed dramatically, and had a definite upscale feel about it.

A round digital screen is flanked by the instrument cluster dials, and the steering wheel looks very similar to the one found on the Rio.

The new Picanto is larger than before, and that equates to more space in the cabin, especially in terms of legroom for passengers in the rear.

That extra space also carries over to the trunk, which is larger than the outgoing model.

Picanto 3-door availability?

Kia Picanto interior designWe are unsure whether the 3-door model will be carried over to this generation, but the clues lead us to believe it will not.

All the images and spy shots that we have seen have been of a 5-door variant, leading us to believe that Kia have done away with the 3-door.

Powertrain specs

As for what’s under the hood, the logical choice would be a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo in both 100-hp and 120-hp variants.

The base models will likely be outfitted with naturally aspirated gasoline engines.

The teaser images here reveal that an automatic will be the transmission of choice for some models.

Kia Picanto release date

One thing that we do know for sure is that the Kia Picanto redesign will be officially unveiled at the start of 2017 in Korea.

The European market should get their first look at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

2019 Kia Picanto On Sale In USA or Canada?

Kia Picanto in US or Canada – is it available in 2019?

Small cars such as the Kia Picanto, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent or Fiat 500 are especially popular in Europe, but lately, the stylish city-cars have been gaining popularity also amongst consumers in the USA and Canada.

Kia Motors Corporation offers a large number of highly attractive sub-compact and compact cars that deliver unsurpassed fuel efficiency and add versatility in an urban environment.

Those include the boxy Ray and Picanto 5-door hatchbacks, Venga mini MPV, Rio 5-door hatchback, Rio 4-door sedan and Soul crossover vehicle.

Kia Picanto In USASome of the above-mentioned Kia small cars are only available in Europe, while others are limited to the carmaker’s domestic market (Korea).

Kia Rio and Kia Soul are being sold in the United States, as well as in Canada and they have both been selling exceptionally well!

Kia Picanto in US / Canada

Kia Picanto, on the other hand, is not available for sale in the US market or Canada.

Kia has also no plans to bring the Picanto to the United States at this point, although there is an increasing number of consumers showing the interest in the carmaker’s entry-level car.

Those looking for a small and affordble hatchback or sedan should take a closer look at the highly-attractive Kia Rio (named “Best Small Car” by Motorweek ) or the funky Kia Soul crossover vehicle.

Prices Of Kia Models In 2019 (US-Market)

Let’s check the pricing details of Kia models in US (2019 model year).

There are a lot of factors that consumers take into account when it comes time to buy a new Kia vehicle in 2019.

Fuel economy, design, safety ratings, features, and exterior colors are just a few of the things that people look at.

Perhaps the biggest factor of all, though, is the price, as the total cost of the Kia vehicle can end up being a deal breaker for many.

Kia has made a habit of delivering vehicles that offer a real value proposition to the consumer, which is why the brand has done so well in the US, as well as in other parts of the world.

New Kia Car PricesWe decided to put together a little Kia pricing guide that will show the price range of vehicles in their US-market line-up.

2017 Kia Forte5 SX Orange Color Package

When you hear that a particular model is getting a color package as an option, you assume that it will all start with the exterior.

This would then lead you to believe that the Forte 5 SX Orange Color Package would deliver a brilliantly bright take on the vehicle, but that is not the case at all.

The Forte5 underwent a mild tweak for the 2017 model year, and the addition of the orange color package adds yet another nice touch.

Available only on the Forte SX model, the Orange Color Package delivers the changes in the cabin.

If you love a splash of OJ with your breakfast, you are going to love waking up to the Orange Color Package every day.

Kia Forte5 SX “orange color pack” pictures

Kia Forte Orange Color Pack  Kia Forte orange rear seats

The focal point in the package are the black and orange leather seats, as well as some orange stitching on the steering wheel, the shifter, and the seats.

That look is carried all the way back to the rear seats, with splashes of orange found there too.

The 2017 Kia Forte 5 SX is already a sporty number, but it has to be said that the addition of the orange adds a little bit of, pardon the pun, zest that drivers are sure to find appealing.

Price of orange color package

Kia have not yet announced how much it will cost for the 2017 Forte5 SX Orange Color Package, but we will let you know as soon as its made available.

New Kia Rio 2018 – Video Preview

Here we have two videos showcasing the new Kia Rio 2018 (model year).

2018 Kia Rio introduction

Kia unveiled the new Rio 5-door hatchback at the Paris Motor Show over the weekend, showing of a vehicle that is superior in many ways to the outgoing model.

After a full makeover for the 2018 model year, the new Kia Rio is set to challenge the best vehicles that Europe has to offer in the sub-compact car segment.

As you’ll see in the videos, the 2018 Kia Rio looks great from the outside, but it also shines in the cabin, thanks in large part to the use of upscale materials that help give the interior a premium look.

Under the hood, the Euro-market Kia Rio offers a wide range of small gasoline and diesel engines, including a brand-new 1,0L turbocharged three-cylinder unit.

The top of the range Rio trim levels can have the engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, while the base models have a 5-speed unit.

While the car is expected to arrive in the US at the end of 2017, there is no official release date available at this point. Also, there’s no official word on pricing yet.

2018 Kia Rio video No.1

This video was taken at the Paris Auto Show where Kia officially unveiled the new Rio 2018 – model year.

Kia Rio video No. 2

The second Kia Rio video in this blog post reveals some cool details about the car. This is a kind of in-depth walkaround review, shot at Kia’s Frankfurt (Germany) headquarters.

Kia US Sales Figures Report: September 2016

As we roll into the month of October, we can now look back at the previous month to see how sales went for Kia in September.

It was a pretty poor month all around for the major automakers, as they all saw some sort of sales dip.

The results were not totally unexpected, but still a little surprising given that the automakers were in a giving mood with discounts.

Kia US sales in September 2016

Kia saw their sales for the month of September drop by 1% over last year, with 49,220 units sold compared to 49,820 in 2015.

Year-to-date US Kia sales

The Kia US sales numbers through the first 9 months of the year are still up by 3%, as Kia has sold 249,956 units as compared to 230,133 last year.

Best-selling Kia model: Soul

It was the Soul that once again came in as the best seller for Kia, moving 11,85 units, which is down from the 13,614 units it moved in September 2015.

Despite that dip, the Soul has still managed to cross the 100,000 unit sales mark through the first 9 months of 2016.

Another vehicle experiencing a little drop off was the Optima, which went from 11,719 units last year to 9,010 units this year. It has also fallen off in year to date sales, moving 89,327 units compared to 118,303.

The Kia Sorento crossover also saw sales fell year over year, going from 9,380 in 2015 to 8,137 this year.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom, though, as the Forte compact saw a 3,000 unit increase up to 8,256 units, while the Sportage chipped in with 6,282 units.

The Sedona minivan also performed well, crossing the 3,000 units sales mark in September.

Now, let’s have an in depth look at Kia Motors America September sales (by model).

Kia US market sales figures in September

Kia Soul 1,6L T-GDI Turbo Specifications Detailed

Kia Soul owners love their “hamster rides”, but a good number of them have been calling for a turbo version of the vehicle for a while, and now their wish is being granted.

The addition of a Soul turbo to the Kia line-up will hopefully help push the Soul sales in Europe, with the numbers well off the pace of those in North America.

Kia Soul 1,6L turbo engine specs

The 1.6L T-GDI turbo engine has been featured in a number of Kia vehicles, and is now headed to the Soul crossover.

Kia Soul turbo specsThe unit cranks out 201 horsepower, and goes from 0-62 mph in 7.8 seconds.

The top speed will come in at 124 mph, and fuel efficiency will be rated at around 34 mpg.

The highly-potent 1,6L turbo engine in the new Kia Soul will be mated to the automaker’s 7-speed DCT.

Kia Soul turbo brakes

With all that extra power delivered by the 1.6L turbo engine, it’s good to hear that there will be an option for larger front brakes, with 320mm brakes available instead of the standard 300mm.

Enhanced looks of the turbocharged Soul

There will be some distinction between the standard Soul and the 2017 Kia Soul Turbo model, with the latter featuring a bolder front bumper design and an air intake grille, as well as twin exhaust pipes and 18-inch alloy wheels as standard.

Unique badging and red highlights on the front bumper will also be visible.

Styling differences will carry over into the interior, with the new Kia Soul turbo model featuring black cloth with orange stitching, a D-shaped steering wheel, as well as a number of orange highlights throughout the cabin, all of which helps with the sporty styling of the car.

Kia Soul turbo launch date

The 1.6-liter Turbo Kia Soul will be available in Europe starting sometime in October, and will head to North America sometime soon after.

2017 Kia Picanto Spy Shots, Release Date, Changes

New vehicles go through a variety of different tests before hitting the market, and the third-generation 2017 Kia Picanto is currently undergoing winter testing in Europe.

The new model is set for release in 2017, and while it had always been admired for its spaciousness and build quality, it has fallen short of the likes of the Volkswagen Up in terms of style.

2017 Kia Picanto spy shots

The latest spy shots of the Kia Picanto redesign don’t give too much away, but we can still get a decent idea of its basic shape.

2017 Kia Picanto spy shotsThe new model looks as though it’s going to be a little larger than the existing one, but that doesn’t necessarily mean a slew of style changes will be coming.

The most notable changes are likely to be in the grille and headlight set-up, with LED daytime running lights a possibility.

Other exterior change will most likely be the addition of new body creases along the side, as well as redesigned brake lights.

The 5-door Picanto has been the customer favorite to this point, so there is a chance that this will be the only model offered.

It’s not yet known whether Kia will stick with the existing platform or have the new Picanto ride on something totally new.

Regardless of the choice they make here, we can expect to see increases in space in the trunk and interior.

A larger body will also mean larger doors, which will help make access that much easier.

The interior will be redesigned, and will feature new instrument dials, a new steering wheel, and horizontal vents that will be moved to the center of the dash below the infotainment system.

Heating and air controls will also move down, and will sit just above an increased storage area.

Quality has never really been an issue for the Picanto, but expect to see better materials used at eye level to make it appear as though the quality has been increased.

Kia Picanto 2017: engines

The engines that will feature in the third generation Picanto will be revised versions of the current 1.0- and 1.25-liter gas engines in the current model. These changes have been made to improve fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.

There is also a chance that Kia will offer the 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine currently used in the Cee’d but we are really just guessing at this point, as Kia has not many any announcement on that.

The current Picanto can be had for less than 10,000 Euros, and we don’t expect that price to change too much, as it will help the vehicle stay competitive with competitors like the Volkswagen Up, Toyota Aygo, and Peugeot 108.

2017 Picanto release date

The vehicle is expected to hit showrooms in 2017, which would make the 2017 Geneva Motor Show the ideal venue to unveil it.

Kia Large & Small SUVs In 2019 (+ Future Models)

As it stands at the moment, 2019 Kia SUV model lineup in the US is comprised of two vehicles: the Sportage 5-seater compact SUV and the Sorento 7-seater midsize SUV.

The Sportage is considered to be the entry level vehicle in the segment, while the Sorento is more on the premium side of things.

The Sorento is also the larger of the two models, and comes with three rows of seats that comfortably hold 7 passengers. The Sportage is made to comfortably seat 5.

As far as sales go, both models are doing well in the US market, with the Sorento more often than not landing in the top 3 selling models for Kia.

Sales of the Sportage are on the rise, thanks in large part to the release of the updated 4th generation model earlier in the year.

Kia SUVs in U.S.

  • Kia Sportage compact SUV
  • Kia Sorento midsize SUV
  • Kia Telluride large SUV (coming soon)

Future models

Kia SUVsThe SUV market is one of the fastest growing in the automotive world, and it seems as though there is a new model being released on a regular basis.

Kia plan on being part of that growth, and already have one new small SUV model confirmed for production, with another bigger one set for release in the next few years.

Small SUV model

Positioned below the Sportage will be a small Kia SUV that will be geared more towards the European market. That said you can also expect to see it make an appearance in the US and Canada.

In the North American market, it will go against the likes of the Honda HR-V, Fiat 500x, Jeep Renegade, and Mazda CX-3.

Kia have yet to release any specs about the vehicle, but the general consensus is that it will use the same powertrain found in the Soul and the Rio hatchback.

There has also not been any official release date mentioned, but we would expect it to arrive in late 2017 or early 2018.

Large SUV

It’s all just rumors at the moment, but there is a belief that Kia will soon introduce a large SUV that would be positioned above the Sorento. It would come with three rows of seats that would hold 7 or 8 passengers.

If you were able to get a look at the Telluride concept vehicle that Kia showed off in Detroit earlier this year, then you have a good idea of what this large Kia SUV might look like, and potentially what it might even be named.

We are still waiting to hear if this model is going to be greenlit for production, but if it is, then expect to see it hit showrooms in the next 2 to 3 years.

Conclusion

Kia have done a fantastic job of having their finger on the pulse of the US consumer, and with the SUV market growing, it’s no real surprise that we can expect to see the list of Kia SUV models grow in the next few years.

2017 Hyundai i30 5-Door Hatchback Officially Unveiled

The teaser videos and spy photos of the 2017 Hyundai i30 (Kia cee’d sibling) are now a thing of the past, as the third-generation model gets ready to take the stage.

Boasting a sleeker and more modern look than the model it replaces, the fully redesigned Hyundai i30, will also have a range of new engine to show off.

The i30 5-door hatchback, which shares the platform with the Kia cee’d sibling, is scheduled to hit the Hyundai showroom floor in early 2017.

But, before it goes on sale in Europe, it will make an official public debut at the Paris Motor Show.

2017 Hyundai i30 engine specs

2017 Hyundai i30There is a loot to like when it comes to the 2017 Hyundai i30 engine line-up.

Look under the hood of the Hyundai compact hatchback and you’ll find a brand new 1.4L 4-cylinder turbo engine which cranks out 138 horsepower and 179-lb.-ft. of torque.

That unit is in addition to the naturally aspirated 1.4L engine delivering 98 horsepower and 99 lb.-ft. of torque.

Also available is the fuel efficient 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo that delivers 118 horsepower and 125 lb.-ft. of torque, as well as a 1.6L diesel that comes with three separate power outputs: 94-hp, 109-hp, and 134 horsepower.

i30 6-speed manual transmission or 7-speed DCT

The engine choice will dictate the transmission, which will either be a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

Hyundai i30 2017 styling changes

The first of the visible exterior design changes is the new cascading grille. Get used to this one, as you are going to see it on a lot of upcoming Hyundai vehicles.

The grill is larger, is hexagonal in shape, and comes with a chrome outline. The new vehicle looks a little wider, courtesy of the swept back headlight design. A character line runs the length of the car from headlights to taillights, creating a truly cohesive profile.

The interior of the new model is more upscale than the current one, and incudes new tech and driver assist features.

The infotainment screen gives the appearance of floating in the center of the dashboard, and drivers can choose for a 5-inch version, or an 8-inch with navigation.

If you want to let more sunlight in, you can opt in for a 2017 Hyundai i30 with a panoramic sunroof.

New Hyundai i30 variants to be launched in 2017

When design chief Peter Schreyer showed off the new model in Frankfurt, he also revealed slides that appeared to show drawing of upcoming Hyundai i30 variants.

Unfortunately, he did not go into any detail about what those variants might be.

The only other Hyundai i30 model that has been formally announced at this point is the RN30, which is a high performance version of the 2017 i30 model.

The other two vehicles depicted in the drawings are more than likely an i30 wagon, as well as the i30 4-door sedan coupe.

Sharing parts with future Kia cee’d

We find this 2017 Hyundai i30 news highly important because all engines and infotainment technology from this car will also be shared in the near future, 2018 Kia cee’d 5-door.

The 2018 Kia cee’d is coming to the market late next year!

Kia Sportage Comes In Brown Color Called Burnished Copper

The Kia Sportage in Burnished Copper color is actually more brown than anything, and will be sure to satisfy those of you who love earth tones when choosing an exterior paint job.

Of all the Sportage colors, it’s the Burnished Copper paint shade that looks most suited to the outdoor adventures that this vehicle is more than equipped to take you on.

While the color may suggest a vehicle that wants to be out on the country roads and in amongst nature, make no mistake, this is also a hue that is going to get noticed on the highway.

This exterior color is a great addition to the line-up, and it is as eye-catching as the design of the new model, both inside and out.
