Kia automobiles are hot! Record high US sales…
Record-high sales results prove that Kia automobiles are the hottest products on the North American car market at the moment!
Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced all-time record monthly sales of 40,198 in August, up 37 percent over July and 60.4 percent year over year from August 2008. Offering an array of standard technology features, the highly stylized and popular all-new 2010 Soul urban passenger vehicle and all-new 2010 Forte compact sedan helped attract buyers to the brand, as did an increase in foot traffic through dealerships nationwide due in part to the government-sponsored C.A.R.S. program. August sales were led by the Kia Sportage and Kia Optima, selling 7,558 and 7,461 units respectively.
“Our relative market share increase tied to the vehicles included in the C.A.R.S. program is among the top three brands in the industry,” said Tom Loveless, vice president of sales, Kia Motors America.
Kia Motors is in the midst of a dramatic, design-led transformation, which has been delivering dynamically styled vehicles in several important segments at exactly the right time. The all-new 2010 Forte and Forte Koup, which replaced the Spectra, Kia’s best-selling model, further reinforces the design revolution brought on by the all-new, award-winning 2010 Soul urban passenger vehicle.
The Soul began changing consumer perception of Kia as soon as it arrived in showrooms this spring, from a brand known for delivering safe and fuel efficient vehicles at a tremendous value to one now combining those attributes with modern technologies and eye-catching design. These new vehicles have attracted discerning and smart shoppers to Kia showrooms and have contributed to the brand’s continued upward momentum as the brand continues to gain market share in the U.S. The upcoming launch of the all-new 2011 Sorento CUV, the first vehicle to be built at the company’s first U.S.-based manufacturing facilities in West Point, Georgia, will further enhance the lineup.
“The C.A.R.S. program attracted new customers to Kia; those that didn’t necessarily want or need a new car, but were enticed by C.A.R.S. to buy a car that would last,” said Loveless. “These buyers, often with better credit, are a solid sign of a significant positive change in brand perception and a tribute to the entire Kia vehicle line.”[Source: Kia Motors America]
Kia sales table:
no Kia motor dealers repect the 5years warranty & Guarantee for KIA Opirous premium 2009 which causes damages to KIA Opirous reputations in the markets.
and KIA Canada’s was up 20.6% over August 2008 and up 20.4% on YTD, another record month.
Why is it that KIA Canada has exceeded the 2008 year every single month so far this year and not once does it get a mention on the news page!
What’s an “Opirus?” You mean, Optima?
amanti is called opirus in certain markets like middle east and south korea. actually its ‘opirus premium’ now in south korea
I think that once Americans see more of the new Forte they’ll get over the Spectra and but them. Love the new Forte sedan and Koup. And the Sportage and Optima and Sedona and Rondo and Soul. I want to see what Kia will import here in the very small car class. Like Rio. Pep it up with a nice bodykit and racecar it a bit Kia and provide good gas mileage and it will sell here.
Next month the sales will be zero..BooHoo.. cash for clunkers worked every? Then we would be broke!!!!
^uhhh whats that last comment s’posed to be? obviously someone doesn’t know their sheeeit.
as for the original post – the only word i can think of to say is a cuss word so i wont even say it. but one starts with a D. the other an S. and the other an F. lol.
Yeah joshy I don’t know sheeit…
why are they still selling the Spectra? the Forte has been out for a while now, and i thought it replaced the Spectra.
They are dumping the inventory thats why spectra is showing up still
They should price the Spectra at $9000. Every last one of them will be gone in a month that way.
Most dealerships are selling them for at least that cheap. I know of a dealership that sold it’s last Spectra (SX, MT) for just under $5,000!
We have to get the Forte sales established more here, so they should practically be giving away the Spectra. to make that happen.
–
Theres no way that a Spectra should be just only $2000 cheaper than a Forte. It looks $4000 cheaper.
Come on, the Spectra has changed little since its 2003 Debut, the price they were selling on that was asinine.
–
$16,000 for a car that looks 4 years old inside, are you kidding me? KIA should have been selling 10,000 of them a month, not 4000 of them.
They are going for $11K here.
Keep the Forte price like that and in 1-2 years it will outsell the Corolla. Just look at the Corolla on paper, in the flesh, test drive it, then do the same to the Forte. You will see automatically that the Corolla is an absolute rip off.
Its a leap frog over the Civic and the Corolla, KIA needs to advertise that.
First the Forte needs the optional features to back it up. Standard features are one thing, but there are always those buyers looking for a high end vehicle at a low-ish price. All Kia needs to do now is to load up an SX Forte with Navi, chrome door handles, Infinity audio, power seats, and auto temp control, MSRP of $22,500, and Kia would have an absolute winner on their hands.
How many dealers have Spectras left anyway? In my TV DMA, only one dealer has any. They have 8, but they also own a dealer in an adjoining DMA and their online inventory is for both dealers, so maybe 4 would be a more accurate number. Among six other dealers, not a Spectra to be found, though one is still advertising an example deal with one.
And I agree Greg. I’d say even the middle trim needs more options. No temp gauge or trip computer even as an option? That’s a little be too basic. I know much of what you mention is available in other markets, so I don’t understand. At least offer it and let the dealers decide how many, if any, to order.
Best-selling Kia Spectra dropped? Why? It’s a great car now. Having test-driven the Kia Forte, I find that it is more like the Kia Optima in size and transmission. Is it really smart to drop a great design Spectra?
To whom it may concern;
I bought a brand new KIA Opirus Premium 2009 in Tehran, Iran.
