Kia Canada Reports September 2013 Sales Figures
It was a bit of a sales slump for Kia Canada in September, as they moved 6,833 units for a 2.8% sales drop over the same period last year.
That said, there were still five Kia vehicles that registered an increase in sales, including the US-built 2014 Sorento SUV, Kia Rio, Kia Optima midsize sedan, Kia Soul and the Sportage Compact Utility Vehicle.
It was also a good month for the Optima Hybrid, as it was able to deliver its best sales month since it was first introduced back in 2011.
The Rio sub-compact car and Sorento were able to cross the 1,000 unit sales mark for the month, with both also doing well year to date at 17.1% and 6.3%, respectively.
Jack Uczciwek , Director of Sales, Kia Canada, said that they were pleased to see their award-wining lineup continuing to do well across the country. He spoke about how the new 2014 models have brought new customers into the showrooms, which includes the well-received 2014 Cadenza luxury sedan.
Good news for Kia in September included seeing their brand value increase by 15%, taking them to number 83 on the list of “Top 100 Best Global Brands,” as compiled by Interbrand, the largest brand consultancy agency in the world.
The first appearance on the list for Kia came last year when they landed at #87. The four spot jump comes thanks to a brand value that tops $4.7 billion.
That number is a 15% ($619 million) increase over the previous year, which is a good sight more than the 8.4% average increase of other companies on the list.
