Kia Canada Announces May 2013 Sales – Forte Sedan Sets Record Sales
Kia Canada announces 7,558 vehicle sales in May 2013!
Kia showed the diversity of its lineup by having 5 different vehicles achieve over 1,000 units sold in May.
The Forte family (4-door Forte sedan, 5-door hatchback, and Forte Koup) combined for 1,867 units sold, representing a 1.5% increase over May 2012.
The majority of those sales, 1,400 to be exact, were attributed to the European-inspired 2014 Kia Forte sedan.
The numbers are all the more impressive when you consider that the car has only been in showrooms for the last 60 days.
The car being named best compact sedan by Motor Trend didn’t hurt the cause either (read the 2014 Forte comparison test here).
The entry-level Kia Rio, which comprises the 5-door hatchback and sedan, also performed well last month as the model recorded the sales of 1,779 units, a 4.9 per-cent growth over the previous year.
The all new 2014 Kia Sorento, which is built in Georgia, sold 1,246 units during the month of May, which was enough for an 18.8% sales increase over the same period last year.
Kia Rondo Sales Soar 35%
The Rondo MPV, which has been on sale since mid April, has also been one of the top performers in the Kia range.
In its first full sales month, Kia delivered 702 new Rondos to the customers living in Canada.
The number represents a 35% sales increase when compared to last year.
Kia Canada June 2013 Incentives:
Kia Canada has also released the information about the “2014 Early Arrivals Sales Event” for the month of June 2013.
To support this event, Kia will continue to offer very attractive incentives programs including 0% financing, plus “Don’t Pay for 60 Days” on all 2013 and 2014 Kia models.
Cash buyers can enjoy savings of up to $4,500 on select models of the popular Sorento SUV, while those looking to purchase the Optima mid-size sedan can enjoy a free upgrade to EX Turbo valued up to $1,800.
Customers looking to buy the stylish Rio sedan or Rio 5-door hatchback can take advantage of a “3 Monthly Payments on Us” incentive. [Source: Kia Canda]
May was the first full month of sales for the Rondo and it blew its direct competition out of the water!
Rondo – 702
Mazda 5 – 236
Chev Orlando – 125
However, in YTD the Mazda 5 is leading with 1465 sales, followed by the Chev Orlando at 1402 and the Rondo at 1266.
Regarding the Cadenza, 600 units is damn good, considering their Ad campaign didn’t start until this month – and only 65% of dealers have any Cadenzas in stock. I was lucky enough to drive one in Ohio, my local dealer still doesn’t know when they will get one.
By 600 I meant 500, hit the wrong key.
