Kia Motors Global Sales Report – November 2012
Much has been written about Kia’s November 2012 sales success in the USA and Canada, but the carmaker’s achievements go much further than just in those places.
Kia’s meteoric rise continued in other parts of the world including Europe, China and Middle East with global sales in November totaling 234,069 units.
Kia Motors global sales last month are up 6,4 per-cent compared to November 2011 due in large part to strong sales of the carmaker’s 5 top-selling products.
5 Kia best-sellers
Those include the sub-compact Rio (known also as Kia K2 in China), Cerato and Sportage with November 2012 sales of 37,651; 33,309 and 30,364 units, respectively.
Other Kia vehicles enjoyed strong growth as well, including the Optima mid-size sedan with 30,364 units sold and the just-recently updated 2014 Sorento SUV with sales of 19,107 units.
Global market sales
Successful launch of the all-new K3 compact sedan (Kia Forte 2014MY) in South Korea and China has helped Kia to achieve double-digit growth in both highly competitive markets.
Kia’s sales in Korea posted a year on year sales increase of 13.8% in Korea and 13,6% in China with sales totaling 44,400 and 55,300 units, respectively.
The North American sales jumped 11,7% for a total of 46,774 units, while the financially troubled Europe posted a modest 1% gain in sales (46,331 units sold).
According to the latest sales figures, Kia’s year-to-date-sales are up more than 10% from a year ago. So far this year, Kia Motors has sold 2,497,002 vehicles globally.
