Kia sales in USA – February 2012
Kia Motors America sees big boost in February sales as Optima and Rio sales double from the same month a year ago!
Most automakers have now reported their February 2012 sales figures and Kia is one of those that has the most reason to celebrate.
Kia Motors America reported 45,038 deliveries in February 2012, an increase of 37 percent over sales in February 2011. For the 2012 calendar year-to-date, Kia USA sales have increased 32 percent for a total of 80,555 units.
Kia’s February 2012 sales were boosted by increased demand for its U.S.-built Optima sedan, which retained its top spot from previous month. Kia Optima sales have hit an all time high of 11,558 units last month. It was followed by Kia Soul and Sorento crossover vehicles taking second and third spot with monthly sales of 10,876 and 8,386 units, respectively.
The C-segment Forte was the fourth best seller in the Kia range with February 2012 sales of 5,706 units. Taking fifth and sixth spot last month were the all-new Rio hatchback (+ Rio 4-door sedan) with 3,598 and 3,410 units sold respectively.
Kia’s seven-seat Sedona minivan experienced a slight increase in sales over the same month a year ago with monthly sales surpassing 1,500 units.
February 2012 Kia sales – by model:
as usual I’ll add Kia Canada’s sales – they had another record month with an increase of 20% over February 2011 which makes it 38 consecutive months of year over year growth. Top three sellers: Sorento, Forte, Optima.
Good News for KIA , Always in Europe the sales increase 54% . KIA THE BEST CARS !!!
These figures should be clearly incorporated into the total sales all models USA – then we can see where Kia is standing. If interpreted wrongly the article can lead to the thought that Kia is top of sales in USA which is NOT true!! By segment – it is possibly another issue – but I would like to see “real” figures in contect with all USA sales/manufacturers
