Kia USA On Track To Post Record May Sales

There are still a few days left in the month, but Kia executives are already hinting that sales for May could reach record levels.

With record numbers already recorded for January and Aprils, it looks as though the Koreans have 2014 sales back on track.

The news of the May sales came at the spring rally at Road America, where keynote speaker, Scott McKee, Kia director of communications, reportedly spoke about the impending record month.

The number that they would need to beat would be the 52,237 record sales that they hit last May.

Kia SalesAccording to official numbers from Kia, it was the Optima that led the way in April with 14,589 units sold.

The Soul achieved an all-time best sales month with 14,403 units sold.

On top of all that, Kia also recorded its 5 millionth sale in the US market. That big landmark sales number came as Kia was celebrating its 20th year of operations in the US.

Through the first 4 months of the year, Kia had recorded a total of 186,682 sales, topping the 174,488 sales from the same period last year.

It is the Soul that has been responsible in large part for the upswing, showing an increase of almost 7,000 units sold over the same period in 2013.

The Cadenza is also doing its part, selling 3,390 units compared to just 61 the year before.

Even the Sedona minivan, which no-one sees as a big seller has done well, achieving a 1,500 unit increase in April.

  1. If people query my last comment it is cause they either blind in terms of stylish design or like other car makers lineups with less appealing style!

  2. I feel like you are torturing us, with pictures of the pro_cee’d, not available in the USA, in an article about USA sales. Unless there is a hidden subtext, and we are getting the cee’d and variants here in the USA?!
