New Kia Concept Car Set For 2013 Geneva Motor Show Unveiling
Kia Motors Corp. has released first teaser images of its all-new concept vehicle, which will make its public premiere at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Kia’s brand-new concept car does not have a name yet, and all the carmaker told us about it so far is that it’s a “racy new urban concept” which features company’s signature tiger-nose grille and LED headlight arrangement, coupled with strong styling lines that exude speed and energy from every angle.
As these images suggest, the forth-coming concept cars appears to be a sporty 3-door hatchback, however there are also some crossover vehicle elements to the design.
From what we have seen so far, this car could be a rival to the Mini Countryman or Nissan Juke.
We are expecting to receive more details about Kia’s mysterious concept car before its March debut. Stay tuned!
2013 Geneva Motor Show
The yet-unnamed concept car won’t be the sole show stopper at the Kia booth in Geneva.
As we have already revealed, the South Korean carmaker will also put on display the hotter GT versions of the cee’d 5-door and pro_cee’d 3-door hatchbacks.
Both GT models will powered by a 1,6L GDI four-cylinder engine generating 204-horsepower and 265 Nm of maximum torque.
Update: The concept car show here is named Provo.
Nice! As for the “different” looking cars, this is one that I would actually buy.
Hmm….this does not interest me. Not even a little. Can you imagine installing a car seat in that thing? No thanks. Where is the minivan??
I’m entirely ready for the Sedona….but I’m willing to wait for New York if necessary. I’m ready to upgrade. Just hit 175k on my 07 Sedona EX, and I wholeheartedly agree with Greg about the car seats. Sometimes I wonder if it would be easier to weld the damn things in place.
Stephen, it’s good to hear someone who has the same concerns about car seats that I do! A trick that I have learned when using the lower LATCH tethers, is to tighten the strap just enough so that you can’t latch both of them with the seat in its normal position. THEN, recline the seat. Both of them will be able to latch. When you return the seat to its normal position the car seat is installed perfectly snug. Same works for the other (behind the seat) LATCH strap. I have gotten to where I can properly install a car seat in the Sedona in under 30 seconds. The recline function makes it SO MUCH EASIER!!
Wow! That’s a really great idea for the car seats! I just went out and tried that, and it works AWESOME! The car seat is now extremely snug, and no longer has the inch or so of side-to-side play that it used to. It made me so nervous I couldn’t get it any tighter. No matter how hard I would pull the strap I couldn’t get it tight, problem solved! Great thinking! Hope the new Sedona retains the recline feature in the 2nd row seats.
This should be the 2014 Forte KOUP. That C pillar is so familar to the Koup now. I would buy it if it is truly the replacement for the outgoing model.
Couldn’t this be a small coupé just like GM’s Tigra?
