Kia UK Releases Sales Figures For The Month Of March 2014

It was a big month for Kia UK in March, as they were able to move 14,787 new cars.

That number represented a best-ever March, as well as a best ever single month performance.

Furthermore, the strong sales numbers in March meant that Kia experienced its strongest ever first quarter.

The previous record monthly mark was set in September last year when they moved 12,728 units.

The units for March represented a 17.3% increase over the same period last year, as well as a 16.2% improvement on the previous record.

Top-Selling Kias In The UK

1. Sportage SUV
2. Picanto citiy car
3. Rio

The top-seller for Kia UK was the Sportage with 3,784 units sold last month, and 5,649 for the quarter.

The Picanto was next with 3,114 units sold, followed by the Rio with 2,638 units.

Rounding out the top 5  was the cee’d family with 2,511 units and the Venga mini MPV with 1,114 units.

Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia Motors (UK) Limited said that he was delighted by the response from retail customers to the Kia line-up, especially since 60% of all sales went to private buyers.

He was also pleased with sales at the corporate level, as that strong performance helps the company on their way to hitting targets in their growth strategy.

Overall, the sales that Kia attained in March led them to a 3.18 market share, with the first quarter numbers showing a 3.14 market share.
